The Stable Gallery has a long history of exhibiting fine
arts and crafts, representing Maine artists and artisans of superb quality and
reputation. Originally clipper ship builder Eldridge Norris owned the stables.
The classic box stalls and tack room are faced with black walnut and topped with
wrought iron grillwork - a magnificent example of Victorian architecture. In
2006 the Water Street Artists began their stewardship of this historic venue.
Dedicated to the ideal of providing a place for artists and artisans to share
their work with the larger world, this group of artists has worked long and hard
to gather a wide selection of the best and most interesting work available in
the mid-coast of Maine.
The Gallery is open from 10:00am to 5:00pm every day from
mid-May to mid-October. Receptions are held each month to celebrate a different
group of the gallery's represented artists and Members.
Please join us whenever you are in the area.
